Outdoor Pursuits
The Beara Peninsula's dramatic landscapes and abundant outdoor activities make it a haven for adventure enthusiasts.
Public Review from Charlie visiting from Galway
We came here on a reunion trip with a few friends we hadn’t seen in a while and it was a great place to catch up and chat in your own private bar. We also got to do a number of outdoor activities. We went to the adventure centre (8 mins down the road) and got a night kayaking tour of the bay (25 mins away) which was absolutely stunning. The bioluminescent algae was so beautiful to kayak through… Had a great time here and will definitely be staying here again!”
Hiking/ Hillwalking
Beara Way walk is approximately 220 km in length and completes a circuit of breathtaking coastal and mountain scenery. We aim to be situated amidst this adventure playground, providing convenient and comfortable accommodations, offering a home base for explorations of the peninsula.
Cycling
The Ring of Beara Cycle had more than 4,000 cyclists on two routes in 2023 and has welcomed over 36,000 cyclists to the Beara peninsula since its inception in 2015. The event also generates economic revenue for the area as the influx of riders and their supporters results in over 8,000 bed nights locally, maintains local jobs and contributes over €5m in direct expenditure to the local economy.
Golfing
Kenmare Golf Club: Unforgettable challenge with breathtaking views over Kenmare Bay and mountains. Great holes, always in top condition.
Parknasilla: Unique 12-hole parkland course in Parknasilla resort. Spectacular views, mix of open and tight fairways. Par 69, tests all abilities.
Ring of Kerry Golf Club: Hybrid course with heathland and parkland holes. Sand-based fairways, firm USGA Standard greens. Stunning scenery, ocean views.
Fishing
There’s an abundance of Lake fishing and Sea Fishing in the area. In the area you can find Pollack, Conger, Wrasse and Mackerel. Bass arrive inshore around the early Autumn, and there’s fly fishing for Pollack, with Wrasse and Triggerfish in the summer.

After a relaxing stay at Lake House Kerry, embark on an unforgettable kayaking adventure in Kenmare Bay. Explore the stunning coastline, spot playful seals, and witness the awe-inspiring bioluminescence at night (offered through local tour operators).
